A general ordinance amending the Springfield Land Development Code, Section 36-306, Zoning Maps, by rezoning approximately 1.45 acres of property, generally located at 1040 and 1110 North Sherman Avenue from a R-SF, Single Family Residential District and Mid-Town Urban Conservation District No. 3 Area E to a Planned Development District No. 353 and Mid-Town Urban Conservation District No. 3 Area E; and adopting an updated Official Zoning Map. A special ordinance approving a redevelopment plan submitted by the Bailey School Redevelopment Corporation for the redevelopment of an area generally located at 501 West Central Street; declaring the Area in such plan to be a blighted area and its redevelopment necessary for the preservation of the public peace, prosperity, health, safety, morals, and welfare; authorizing certain tax abatement within the plan area; and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with the Redevelopment Corporation relating to the implementation of the Redevelopment Plan. A special ordinance authorizing the City Manager, or his designee, to make application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Federal Fiscal Year 2017 Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership Program funds under the Consolidated Plan, to accept Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership Program funds; to enter into any necessary agreements to carry out the grants; to exercise any and all powers necessary to implement selected projects; to select projects for funding for the City of Springfield Fiscal Year 2017-2018; and to reaffirm the Community Development Objectives and Priorities. A special ordinance authorizing the City Manager, or his designee, to enter into a Surface Transportation Program – Urban Program Agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission to partially reimburse the base salaries of up to six City employees who work at the Transportation Management Center; and amending the budget of the Department of Public Works for Fiscal Year 2016-2017, in the amount of $315,000.

A special ordinance authorizing the City Manager, or his designee, to enter into a Job, Education & Training agreement with Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation to provide employee work skill enhancement and training activities for 47 incumbent workers to fulfill the Ozark Region Workforce Development Board’s Incumbent Worker Training program under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. This is a cost reimbursement contract in the amount of $58,005.
