A general ordinance amending Chapter 2, Section 2‑92 of the Springfield City Code, known as the Salary Ordinance, relating to the salary rate and pay grade for one job title within the Springfield Fire Department, as contained in the Fire Protection Schedule (“FPS”), by reclassifying the position of Assistant Fire Chief (FPS 13), which will result in the addition of one new job title, Assistant Fire Chief (FPS 14), and the deletion of one job title, Assistant Fire Chief (FPS 13); and by updating certain salary grades contained in the Fire Protection Schedule (FPS) (or FPS Salary Grades 11, 12, 14, 15, and 16), with the across-the-board increases previously approved by City Council in General Ordinance Numbers 6003, 6186, 6204, and 6288.

A special ordinance accepting the bid of Gillespie Excavating Co., LLC, in the amount of $427,564.98 for the construction of sanitary sewers in Sanitary Sewer District No. 17 of Section No. 26, located in the vicinity of Kearney Street and Lurvey Road, as indicated on “Exhibit A;” declaring the work to be necessary; stating the intention to pay for all or part of the improvements from the proceeds of bonds; specifying those costs and expenses to be assessed against the properties in the district and the method by which the costs will be apportioned; setting forth the manner of payment, the lien of the assessments, and the duration of the lien; setting forth the interest rate to be charged on the tax bills; authorizing the City Manager, or his designee, to enter into a contract and to approve the bond for said improvement; authorizing progress payments to be made to the contractor; and declaring that this bill qualifies for approval in one reading.
