Community Summit-Focus on Poverty
The Impacting Poverty Commission revealed its findings at the Community Summit recently at the Springfield Art Museum. The overall goal is to stop the growth and decrease the percentage of residents living in poverty from 20 to 15 percent in 10 years. Community leaders participated in a panel discussion on poverty, and Dawn Lockhart, President of Family Foundations delivered the keynote address. The event was hosted by the Junior League of Springfield, Community Foundation of the Ozarks and the City of Springfield.
