Springfield Fire Department breaks ground on new training tower

Construction began this week on a new four-story, $600,000 training training tower that will be built at the Springfield Fire Department Training Annex located at 3131 S. Clifton. The tower will replace the more than 60-year-old tower at 1201 S. Campbell. The new tower will feature multiple stairwells, a residential training prop, ventilations props, forcible entry training area, and more. This tower has been designed to be versatile, with a heavy emphasis on providing firefighters with the basic skills they need to serve the public.
